The managers use fundamental company analysis to reach investment decisions and a number of proprietary tools to control risk. Stock analysis is carried out by a team of investment professionals, including the managers, with an average investment experience of 18 years.

Colin has over 30 years' investment experience and is widely regarded as one of the UK's top stockpicking analysts. Prior to establishing SVM Asset Management in 1990, he held senior positions with three major financial institutions. He was Head of Investment of two UK life assurers, FS Assurance and Scottish Provident, before being Managing Director of Templeton International's European operations. His sector responsibilities include UK banks, insurance and mining. Prior to co-founding SVM in 1990, Margaret previously worked as an investment manager at FS Investment Managers and was manager of its flagship UK fund, FS Balanced Growth Fund. Margaret manages the SVM UK100 Select Fund. Her sector responsibilities include UK telecoms, media & leisure, transport and general financials.
